As a strategy to make quarantine protocols more enjoyable for potential tourists, Thailand has approved six golf resorts to accommodate quarantined tourists in a relaxing, country vista.

As the recent Covid-19 pandemic has shown, Thailand continues to provide exemplary initiatives which aim to boost local tourism and encourage foreign tourists in a post-Coronavirus era. Those seeking to visit this picturesque Southeast Asian country no longer has to be confined in stuffy hotel rooms for two weeks. Instead, the Thai government has recently announced the approval of six golf resorts as a fun alternative.

The Ministry of Public Health’s Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) for COVID-19 released the list of venues where tourists can enjoy a golf quarantine. Spread across Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Nayok, Phetchaburi and Chiang Mai, visitors can now quarantine in these beautiful resorts while embarking on a unique golf vacation in Thailand. For Eat Vacation, this is the perfect way to immerse in the local environment without having to compromise one’s health and safety.

Located in Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Nayok, Phetchaburi and Chiang Mai, these six golf resorts allow foreign golfers the opportunity to undergo quarantine and enjoy golfing in Thailand at the same time.

Tourists would have to make advance booking in one of these golf resorts. They have undergone strict audits, checklist inspection and standard certifications for the overall conditions. As such, Eat Vacation is assured that there is no need to worry about the safety aspects of golf quarantine. In fact, this quarantine alternative was approved back in December 2020.

There are three options in Kanchanaburi, from Mida Golf Club, and Evergreen Hills Golf Club, to Blue Star Golf Course. On the west of Kanchanaburi, Mida Golf Club boasts a regulation par-72 course that spans more than 800 acres, complete with a driving range, multiple practice areas and a pool. One could also find a range of room types to pick from. Evergreen Hills Golf Club has 97 rooms, a swimming pool, restaurant, and tennis court. Meanwhile, Blue Star Golf Course is a par 72, 7,000-yard course. Both come with their own clubhouse and accommodation types.

Foreign golfers wishing to visit Thailand during this time will be allowed to spend their two-week quarantine period at any of the six certified golf resorts and move around in the resort environment and also play golf, rather than just having to isolate in their rooms.

Those planning to stay in Nakhon Nayok could stay at Artitaya Golf & Resort, which offers a unique 18-hole layout and a bit of a challenge. Phetchaburi has the four-star Sawang Resort and Golf Club, known for its incredible 18-hole international quality course. With a driving range, clubhouse and pro shop, it truly will not feel like a quarantine!

Finally, there is the Artitaya Chiang Mai Golf & Resort in Chiang Mai. The 18-hole course spans around 7,329 yards across the resort, where one would find a restaurant and clubhouse too. Instead of isolating in a hotel room, two weeks will pass in a blink of an eye when one is occupied with golf. It truly will be a golfer’s paradise, especially considering the significantly fewer guests who can stay at any one time. You can book tee times easily. So, are you ready for two weeks of golfing in one of these resorts?
