At The Apurva Kempinski Bali, the latest collaboration between Izakaya by OKU and native Japanese chefs intends to explore Japanese flavors from an authentic perspective.

Japanese cuisine has long been part of the exciting culinary scene of Bali. In honor of the Japanese Emperor birthday that is fast approaching this February 23, The Apurva Kempinski Bali has initiated an extraordinary feat of gastronomic collaboration. The five star’s signature Japanese restaurant, Izakaya by OKU, has invited two native Japanese chefs.

Chef Deni Koeswara, who heads the restaurant’s culinary team, will be welcoming Chef Hashimoto Soji and Chef Hatanaka Hirotake for a three-day event. The aim is to accentuate authentic Japanese flavors by combining Izakaya by OKU’s iconic flair with classic home-styled dishes. Eat Vacation feels this is the perfect way to experience the true palate of this East Asian country.

The event, which will be organised at the resort’s signature Japanese restaurant Izakaya by OKU from 23 to 25 February 2021, will introduce two of Japanese guest chefs who have been making their names known in Bali’s Japanese community.

Chef Hashimoto boasts a venerated reputation for his hands-in experience working with seafood. He is known for his Japanese venture, Tensaki. At the same time, Chef Hatanaka is esteemed for his commitment to cook only with fresh ingredients He is an up-and-coming name in the Japanese community of Bali. Chef Deni Koeswara himself expresses the team’s delight at working together with these Japanese chefs. It is part of their Celebrating Diversity campaign. He says, “It is a great opportunity for everyone to experience and take the journey alongside them.”

In this exciting event, guests could expect a tasteful blend of gastronomic creations by both chefs.
