This year, Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana has been launched after a major rebranding that renews its focus on art while introducing immersive experiences and a new restaurant.

IIn 2020, Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana has officially been re-introduced to the community as a world-class idyllic resort that boasts a gorgeous location among the lush rice paddies of Ubud. This property, once the private family estate of acclaimed Indonesian architect Hendra Hadiprana, was managed by GHM for two decades before the rein was finally relinquished back to its roots through Hadiprana Hospitality.

Eat Vacation is genuinely excited to share with readers that the resort will feature a brand-new tapas lounge that showcases unique Balinese artwork. Carved directly into the ceiling, these art pieces actually tell the life story of the late Hadiprana, the resort’s eponymous founder. Meanwhile, another dining option is nestled in a picturesque setting between a serene swan pond and bounteous fields of rice paddies.

Tanah Gajah
One of Southeast Asia’s most renowned resorts, The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah Ubud, is set to anchor the ambitions of a brand new hotel management group, Hadiprana Hospitality.

The entire rebranding is rooted in the life and arts of Hadiprana, who has provided the focal inspiration for the new look of Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana. This includes an inspiring veneration of local art. As Eat Vacation explores the refurbished Bird Lounge, which had been built in 1993, it is difficult not to be awestruck by the beautiful and dynamic bird installation.

Even better, the resort has decided to connect the depths of Balinese wonders and natural phenomenon, allowing guests an exquisite peak into the hidden grandeur of another Hadiprana estate. Eat Vacation truly enjoyed every second treading the off-the-beaten path that would carry one towards the edifice, also currently under a dramatic renovation.

Tanah Gajah
Hadiprana designed the hotel as a family retreat in the 1980s, and named the estate for a nearby cave temple, Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave).

Deasy Swandarini, the General Manager of Tanah Gajah, explains that Hendra Hadiprana has defined the Indonesian luxury hotel design into what we know today. In a press release for Eat Vacation, she says, “It was at Tanah Gajah, his home, where he really groomed his passion for design, and where we plan to continue his story.” To find out more about Tanah Gajah, a resort by Hadiprana, please visit www.tanahgajahubud.com.
