The ‘Taste of Prachuap’ is a brand-new and exciting culinary initiative by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to highlight unique ingredients from eight districts around the province.

One could always rely on a visit to Thailand for an unforgettable culinary crusade. Prachuap Khiri Khan in the country’s southern region is only a few hours away from Bangkok and is popular among tourists. This beautiful coastal destination is known for its beautiful landscape, pristine beach resorts, and extensive food scene.

Eat Vacation is delighted to share that the local Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) office has partnered up with Oceanside Beach Club and Restaurant for the ‘Taste of Prachuap’ program. This event involves a Chef’s Table-style dining experience taking place across various restaurant venues. From March to December 2021, guests can indulge in a series of event, from festivals to gastronomic spectaculars. The first event unfolded on March 13 at Oceanside Beach Club and Restaurant. It was a magnificent seven-course meal spotlighting traditional Thai dishes.

Prepared by the incredible Chef Huto, one of the menus featured lotus blossoms harvested from the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. This unique ‘crab with lotus milk jelly’ was a mind-blowing creation indeed. Likewise, the rest of the events to follow this would be a chance to highlight a local delicacy from each of the district around Prachuap Khiri Khan.  From Hua Hin’s Siam Gold (MD2) pineapple and Mueang’s fresh oyster, to the sumptuous coconut of Thap Sakae and salted mackerel from Bang Saphan Noi. For Eat Vacation, this is the perfect way to truly get to know the local culinary heritage.
