The entire team involved in the 8th Miss Grand International has officially completed their mandatory quarantine and set to explore Thailand’s culture and traditions before the contest begins.

Not only has Thailand’s tourism body proven itself to be efficient and innovative, they have recently welcomed the entire team and contestants from the 8th Miss Grand International pageant. After a 14-day quarantine period that was filled with enriching activities, Eat Vacation is sure that this group is ready to compete at their best states while experiencing the signature Thai hospitality.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) organized a welcoming ceremony, which was attended by the Minister of Tourism and Sports H.E. Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn and TAT Governor, Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn. Throughout the quarantine period where all contestants resided in Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) accommodation, they had the opportunity to engage with various Amazing Thailand Happy Quarantine activities. This included a stimulating ‘Happy DIY Set’ to indulge their creative sides!

As they stayed for two weeks in quarantine, this Set allowed them to create the signature Krajood woven bag, unique cloth mask with authentically designed neck strap, woven water hyacinth slippers, and many more. Eat Vacation could truly see how these activities offer a perfect gateway into the rich cultural heritage of Thailand.

The Miss Grand International contestants have also engaged in Thai-inspired activities, such as a local cooking class where they got to cook their own versions of the sumptuous Phat Thai and Som Tam. Not to mention an invigorating visit to the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha, two of Thailand’s most popular attractions. Those who would like to tune in to the contest could expect a spectacular show on 27 March 2021, which is set to be held at Bangkok’s Show DC Hall.
