From 98 countries across the world, Thailand’s effective initiatives and health protocols have gained fourth place for its response to the global pandemic.

The pandemic that struck the world last year has proven that Thailand is more than a beautiful country. In addition to stunning beaches, picturesque temples, and sumptuous foods, they have shown an impressive feat of creativity, innovation and discipline in their response to COVID-19. True enough, Eat Vacation is thrilled to find out that it has ranked fourth from 98 countries across the globe in terms of the national response to the Coronavirus. Awarded by the Australia-based Lowy Institute, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) was also delighted to share this announcement.

They are preceded by New Zealand, Vietnam and Taiwan as the top 3, followed by Cyprus in fifth place. The criteria for this research consists of six important parameters. This includes the number of confirmed, cases, deaths, cases per million people, deaths per million people, cases in proportion to tests, and tests per one thousand people. These indicators cover a scope of 36 weeks following each country’s 100th confirmed case until January 9, 2021.

Thailand's
Thailand was considered the world’s safest travel destination during the COVID-19 pandemic based on various criteria including the 14-day notification rate of new COVID-19 cases and deaths per the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

Furthermore, Eat Vacation has found out that this assessment considers countries that have reported the least number of cases and deaths, as well as those with a high testing rate. Those living in the Asia-Pacific region would be glad to know that most of these countries are in that region! This is the most recent recognition of Thailand’s prevention strategies, and Eat Vacation believes it is an apt reflection of their continuous efforts. Last August, the country even topped the list as the safest destination in the world during the pandemic.

With that said, Eat Vacation can assure tourists wanting to embark on a thrilling yet safe adventure that Thailand could be the perfect destination. However, do respect the local health and safety guidelines and maintain a strict control of personal hygiene. This will ensure that this beautiful kingdom remains as safe as possible for anyone to visit!
