From a unique installation and weekend market to impressive dining experiences and talk shows, The Dharmawangsa Jakarta invites us all to commemorate the Independence Day.

As we enter the month of August, the spirit of independence has begun to fill the air. The Dharmawangsa Jakarta has partnered with Javara Indonesia to conduct Jelajah Rempah Nusantara, a noteworthy 3-day event which pays tribute to the richness of Indonesian spices and their role in national cuisine and culture. From the 19th to 21st of August, the ornate setting of this five-star hotel will be the backdrop for a series of tantalizing cultural and culinary programs and wellness activities.

Guests are encouraged to embark on the sensory journey of a lifetime as they explore their country’s distinctive heritage. From fun workshops and ancient wellness practices to film screenings and an artisanal weekend market, it will be an event to remember. To start with, one could learn about the different types of heirloom rice in a one-of-a-kind workshop or explore the five cornerstone flavors of local food culture.

In the meantime, there is a cocktail class for those interested in crafting their own Indonesian-inspired cocktails. Of course, the culinary offerings are undoubtedly the main highlight, wherein guests can indulge in all that our sprawling archipelago has to offer, especially in terms of food and beverages.

For example, the Borobudur Heritage Dinner seeks to fuse culinary arts with history for a memorable dining experience inspired by the reliefs of Borobudur. There will also be a Sunday Brunch with Traditional Culinary Showcase, which is a relaxing brunch extravaganza that parades the diversity of classic Indonesian fares.
