After a recent rebrand, this artistic five-start resort launches Panen Padi, a new tapas lounge in what used to be the founder’s private estate, where guests can explore his life story through art.

It is hard to imagine anything more immersive than enjoying a delectable dining experience while exploring the life story of the founder. This will undoubtedly become a memorable episode for anyone, as the sumptuous food selections harmoniously highlight the speckles of artistic pieces throughout the restaurant venue. In Panen Padi Lounge at Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana, diners can find out exactly what that is like.

Picture a traditional Balinese building that has been mostly left untouched for 15 years. It used to be the private estate of Hendra Hadiprana, renowned Indonesian architect and founder of Tanah Gajah, before being transformed recently into a tapas lounge. Nestled among luscious rice paddies in one of the resort’s most picturesque locations, the al fresco venue is a refreshing and invigorating experience. Panen Padi
After 15 years in the doldrums, a Balinese building that was once the heart of Hendra Hadiprana’s private estate has been reimagined as a new tapas lounge, Panen Padi, at Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana.

Inspired from authentic Asian cuisine, the menu in Panen Padi Lounge is masterfully crafted by Chef Khairudin ‘Dean’ Nor, the resort’s executive chef, who has also hand-smoked and cured many of the meats himself. From the Balinese pork sausage and cured tuna filets, to the unique Taco Sushi, Tempura Corn and cured organic duck egg yolk, there are plenty to keep one’s inner foodie excited.

The general manager of Tanah Gajah Ubud, Deasy Swandarini explained that they wanted to create a new culinary destination with Panen Padi Lounge. She said, “We also wanted to share some of our story while giving visitors a memorable backdrop to create their own.”

A spacious terrace was added to create an al fresco dining venue, where guests can enjoy sunset over the rice paddy fields and catch a glimpse of the hotel’s hot air balloon taking flight.

Furthermore, the drink selection is not bereft of Panen Padi’s signature flair either. Its array of cocktails and mocktails are inspired by local destinations, and Eat Vacation particularly recommends the Padi Senja. It is a refreshing mixture of tamarind, passion fruit, calamansi puree and mango boba, complete with a handful of mint leaves. Not to mention the stronger Combrang Vibe, a gin-based cocktail that perfectly blends dry martini, honey and tamarind with torch ginger flower.
