The Apurva Kempinski Bali has recently introduced Bai Yun, a brand-new Chinese hotpot restaurant driven by the mission to bring people together over good food.

For a long time, hotpot has been an integral part of the Chinese dining culture that has spread to Mongolia and across Southeast Asia. It is a chance for families and friends to gather over a boiling pot of soup, cook meats and vegetables as they eat, and most importantly, spend some time together.

While there are plenty of hotpot restaurants around Indonesia and in Bali, Eat Vacation has never been more excited than by the unveiling of Bai Yun at The Apurva Kempinski Bali. Known as one of the island’s most esteemed five-star resort, it already has an array of world-class restaurants on the property. However, the addition of Bai Yun has truly provided an eclectic culinary journey for guests.

Bai Yun
This newly launched restaurant caters to groups from 4 to 150 people, making it an ideal place for casual gatherings or family celebrations.

The name “Bai Yun” means “white cloud” in Mandarin, which is a reference to the steam produced by hot pots that resemble white puffs of clouds. Soup is always the highlight of a hotpot meal, and Eat Vacation is delighted to know that the restaurant’s accomplished chefs have created several sumptuous selections. This includes chicken herbal, vegetarian, and the signature pork collagen.

What is unique is that each guest could choose their own preferred soup, as the tables are fitted with individual hot pots. For Eat Vacation, this is the perfect way to indulge the individual taste while allowing groups to dine with the quintessential communal spirit of hotpots. Fresh seasonal ingredients are also a major priority. One would find that everything from the meat, seafood and vegetables, to meatballs and noodles, are some of the freshest and most premium selections.

The opening of this dining venue also adds another element to the resort’s Celebrating Diversity programme, a campaign that embraces the diverse aspects of the resort and puts a spotlight on craftsmanship.

Executive Chef Ho Weng Kit expresses the significance of hotpots in Chinese cuisine. He is joining Bai Yun with 23 years of international culinary experience and more than 30 prestigious accolades. Chef Ho Weng Kit says, “We cannot wait to show the world our take on this popular dining style.” From 1 May 2021, guests could pamper themselves and loved ones in the lavish yet warm setting of Bai Yun.
